Kindle: The really big plus to it is of course the wireless connection, that you can download a book on the fly. I have to admit, that is handy, but then, I honestly don’t know how often I would do that. I tend to be one of those people who likes to grab whole series of books, so odds are I would just buy them all at once and put them all on the reader. However, I do like reading the paper and my rss feeds, and updating those on the fly would be a lot more convenient. My biggest problem at this point with the kindle is that reading things like PDF’s is not such an easy task. From what I have read, you can do it, but you have to convert the file. Can’t say I really like that idea. However, with the new Kindle arriving someday (hopefully soon) will that be fixed?!

Sony PRS-700BC - The new Sony reader. Looks nice, I like the overall look way better. Sadly since I was never able to hold a Kindle I can’t compare that, but I do like the size and feel of the Sony (at least the older version). The new Sony has backlight, since I do a lot of reading in bed, late at night while the rest of the house is sound asleep, that seems very useful. I have seen images of the LED’s on, not the smoothest effect, but hey, better than nothing at all.

Sony is able to read a lot of various formats, which again, is something I think is really excellent.

Ok, so where does that leave me, no doubt the Kindle has the larger selection of books available, I mean its Amazon, they are book central! But how long will that last, Amazon sells the Sony readers, maybe they will sell the books for it as well? Or can you do that already.. I really need someone to do a write up with a lot more detail then I have been able to find so far.

1) Spore: Guess what, never loaded the game again, just did nothing for me and never had me wanting to go back for more… oh well.

2) Warhammer Online: Very good game, a lot of fun. Public Quests really make it so you never are hunting alone. Only thing is, there are soooo many freaking quests. I guess if you choose you dont have to really do them, you can level up enough between PQ’s and RvR. In any case, I shall play, not every moment of my life, but, I shall play. Guild is already created its called Slightly Askew, you can find us on Britonian Server, as always, I am using the name Socom

3) iPhone: I love the last update, solved all kinds of issues for me. Things are running soooo much smoother. I really do wish they would release a freaking turn-by-turn nav program already, I hate having to use google maps and wait for it to load, or have to zooom when i get to a freeway change to see which way I am going. Other than that, best phone I have ever had. As for the apps, awesome and fun, crappy the way you have to sort them (or lack thereof). I am thinking, i shall make an App, course still have to by a MacBook Pro

4) Ikariam: Still Play, Still love the game, now have four cities.. woooooot

5) Facebook: Personally I like the new look, it’s clean and gets rid of those pages where people had so much crap you were scrolling for 30 mins.

6) FriendFeed: At this point, if I could get rid of Twitter and just use FF I would, such a great page, being able to leave comments is awesome. however they should limit me (just me!) to how many times I cna do a correction, holy crap I do alot of those.. lol

7) Portal Site: I am still looking for that one amazing portal site. I still use Excite.com, because it lets me choose what I want to see on it. Actually displays those items they are not all click throughs. However if you don’t mind click throughs, Symbaloo might be for you! It really is a nice way to lay things out and have all your click throughs on one page (or two if you want to use the tabs) However, it doesn’t give you that option to just quick scan through it. Oh well

Ok that’s it for me, I shall now go to bed, or maybe read a little. Tomorrow I work on the pond then company outing at the casino.. be nice to win some money this time around

So far, I like it, I have a few problems with it, but I have to assume those are just because it is still on beta servers. Also, that the population is very limited so things that I think should be more balanced are not.

They have really done a good job with the overall workings. One of the things I find very unique and fun are what they call Public Quests. These quests are set on timers, so if you miss it, you can wait around or come back later. Once you start the public quest, everyone within the range begins the first stage. Usually this involves killing X number of bad guys. Then it gets harder, the next stage is fighting champions and heroes, at this point, you really need more than just two people to make this work. If you make it through this, then you go on to the last stage. Obviously this is the hardest.

Once you are done, it tallies up the damage you have done versus what everyone else has. From there it ranks you, depending on your rank you will get a bonus to the loot role. If after the role you are one of the lucky ones, you get the goods. Higher you rank, the better the objects (go figure huh). Even when you don’t win, it’s fun, all those people running around like mad men and women.. sure there were probably at least two of those somewhere.

The public quest also gives you rewards for the area the more you do. So, really it’s a win win. I haven’t done any group stuff with friends yet, timing sucks when your (or me in this case) on the east coast and everyone else is on the west coast.

I did do some of the RvR (Realm versus Realm). This is one area I would assume would be much better once there is a larger population. For me I found it mostly frustrating. It always seems to me our 6 lvl 3-7 people versus there best of the best lvl 10’s. So, needless to say we get our asses kicked.

Anyway, that’s it for now, I mean the game is huge and I have only been playing for a few days. I will go over the skills and such at a later time, they once again went a unique route with this.

The game is just so slow and tedious and boring. I am half way through the land phase.. woo hoo. I honestly just don’t get it. Course, this could be just me, maybe others of you out there think this is the best game ever! If so, your not my friend.. move on just kidding.

Anywho, that’s it, not impressed so far. I will force myself to play more, just to see if it gets better, but so far, 2 hours, not much really keeping me interested.

So, what is the game like? Its a cross between Civilization and Age of Empires. But they make the game slower. Doing upgrades takes time, not 30 seconds, but 15min to hours depending on the level up the upgrade. Why is this good? well, I don’t have to sit and watch the whole thing. I can do a couple move things to each of my cities, then check back later when I have more time.

You start off with a single city with a single resource, if you want other resources like Wine, Marble, Crystal or Sulphur, you either need to start another city on that island, or you trade. In each city you build buildings that as with any Civ type game gives you new features, whether it be trade, ships, or building up your army (I try to be peaceful, so I don’t really have an army yet) however, I do have now 3 towns!

Anyway, that’s it, love the game, great thing to do now and again, hope you are able to check it out sometime. I know its not for everyone, but so far they have around 50,000 people playing.
